If the exponent of z is negative, substitute w = 1/z. When you figure it out, how about posting your solution in this forum? Either write it on a piece of paper and scan it in, or write it in Latex, either using the Latex available in this forum, or making a .pdf and attaching it to a message. It's also OK to post solutions written in any way you like, but the above options are more readable. This post really belonged in the "exercise discussion" forum, this forum is where to post solutions. Laura
