Does anyone know why the corrections on the RTR web page do not display properly in IE or FF?

True, the corrections page does not display properly. I saved a (partially) working webpage a while ago - I say partially, because I noticed that the image for the error on page 619 doesn't load. I do not know if there are other problems. It is a significant improvement though.

Download the file here. (590kb - Requires I.E. to open)

Has anybody sent an email to Nick Iles or Roger Penrose with regard to this issue?

  • There is an error in the errata: The error referred to as page 383-1 should be 483-1.
  • In the file I posted, the image for the error on page 619 does load on certain computers - it didn't and still doesn't load on my laptop though.
  • The fonts on the corrections page on the "roadsolutions" website still do not work. I sent a message to Nick Iles about a week ago which mentioned this problem.

There is a display problem because the server http header said charset=utf-8, while the content is actually in windows-1252 encoding. The http header from server should take precedence according to the standard. If you change the browser encoding manually to windows-1252, it'll display correctly.

The admin of the server should fix the configuration and validate the page with validator.w3.org.

If you save the web locally and open it from there, it displays correctly in a browser.
