I gather you've had trouble with spambots - so the registration software doesn't have captcha's?

It does use captchas now. Just try registering and see. We don't have any problems of that sort any more.
Shaun incorporated these changes a while ago now. However the LaTex system has stopped working and Shaun has been unable to correct it.
